Maori Language Week

What we did Today was incredible. Today we learnt about maori and some maori words like moana kia kaha papa purei. All those words that I just said was maori words but its gonna turn into english and here is the english word moana ocean kia kaha be strong papa purei playground. I made a group with my friends Tangi ke and Boston. we created a slide and then shared with each other. We started fast to be the first one done but we took time because if we did our work fast it would not make sence. Our teachers said that to pretend we were teachers.

Wacky Weird Wig Wednesday

Wacky Weird Wig Wednesday It was fun! On Wednesday 16th of September, 2020 we had a Wacky Weird Wig Wednesday. The sale was for hot dogs and ice blocks. Altogether it cost 3 dollars but it wasn’t for the school it was for the cancer society people. When we heard the word Wacky Weird Wig Wednesday I figured out that it was an alliteration. Alliteration means if you use 5 or 4 words with just the same letter w, in this case. But before we had wacky weird wigs Wednesday in the morning I was so excited to come to school because it was a Wacky Weird Wig Wednesday and we could wear anything like the clothes we wore in public. So I got ready, had a shower, put my clothes on, had breakfast, then came to school on time like always.

Cook Island Language

Cook Island Language It was fun learning cook Island words. First in the morning we had fitness. We were meant to have fitness with rooms number 10 and 11. Then we ran around the astritive before we did fitness we had to line up and Mr hendricks told some people to go for a run to the rugby pole and to the second rugby pole and come back but one boy was walking but was running at the end and there was two of them it was a girl and a boy. We came back and learned some cook Island words to be continued. Then we came back and learned some cook island words. it was Kia Orana and it means hello pe’ea koe means how are you meitaki means I am fine akape ea’ koe means how about you and the last one is meitaki means I am fine. We were told to write about what happened in the morning and it was fun. I like learning about Cook Island words because we can greet the teachers and anyone.

The Best Matariki Day Ever

The best Matariki First On friday the 23 of july in glen innes school we had a matariki celebration.We had to make posters related to matariki and cook island made a hangi feast for everyone in GI school. people from other classes came to visit our class about matariki. kids from our class went out to talk about the things we have done. They understood then they moved on to another class. When we went to Rm4 they had to sing a song and it was matariki marklena so we were singing too but we sang louder and we were happy because we were singing for them. Then we went to the hall to have the haugi and room 2s and 3s went first then the older people and the cook island group made the huagi. Then it was room 8s turn we were happy because we could smell it. We standed up and went we made a long line and waited for our turn then it was my turn it was smelling nice.

Face Mask

On Monday the 25th of May 2020 I made a paper towel mask. Mask is something which people wear to cover their full face or part of their face. People wear masks to protect themselves from the virus or air-borne diseases. 

 Why we did it was because we needed a face mask and our teacher told us how to make it. This is how we do it: first we fold a paper towel like a fan, second, you're meant to bend the side of it but when you fold you're meant to put a rubber band inside it and you staple it. 

 When I made my mask I felt happy because no one will think you can make a mask out of a paper towel. The reason why I love my mask is that I don't have one so I made one.

today for stage 4 i got 100% and 60/60 and i am glad. when i get it wrong i will always redo it so you can learn.

Solar System

today I did slides about Solar System. I learnt that a sun is a star and there are 8 planets.

today i was told to do a poster about covid 19 so you know what to do. how can we stop the virus how we can stop it is by cleaning your hands and doing the right thing. if you cough use ur crook and block your snez.
